I was so proud of Peter.   He was determined to finish his fill in the blank mystery story before he left for Mexico.   Although, he was unable to change the font, font colours, backgrounds, and add pictures, he did manage to record his story.   We have been working on reading with expression and Peter sure did showcase his ability to read with expression.   Take a look at the mystery story called, “The Case of the Missing Dog Named Rocky,” created by Peter using, “Book Creator.” Enjoy!  🙂

Welcome back to another school year and our class blog.  Our theme is, “The Case of the Curious Classroom.”  This theme allows students to use facts to analyze possible solutions and arrive to a practical conclusion.  These same steps are required in any problem solving situation both academically and socially.  This theme will be integrated in many subjects: language arts, math, science, social, and art.  I hope students are ready to investigate learning as I have many exciting and interesting activities planned this school year.   Stay tuned by reading our blog and twitter feed!

Students did a fantastic job on their shadow plays.  This project incorporated objectives from the light and shadows unit in Science, as well as, taking a Fairy Tale and rewriting a version of their own.  Students learned how to collaborate and co-operate in their groups.  This project also included musical instruments after learning about, “Peter and the Wolf.”  Lastly, enjoyed performing their shadow plays to students from K-6.
