Our Grade Four Class Blog The Case of the Curious Classroom 

Easter is when Jesus raised up from being nailed on the cross. He was nailed on the cross on the day we now know as Good Friday. Every Easter morning, we go outside to find our Easter candy (if it is hidden outside). Then we get ready to go to church. When church is over we go to our grandparents and eat lunch there. After lunch the parents talk and the little kids play. After a while the kids sit in a circle and open a present that has more than one present in it and pass it around till there is nothing left. If the family that made the present made more than one present we open the rest of them (usually two or three). Then when it is time to go home we all say good- bye and go home. Sometimes we go to our cousins (my dad’s side and my grandparents are from my mom’s side) but there we don’t open presents but do all the rest. We usually have a lot of fun.

Easter is when Jesus was nailed on the cross for our sins.   At noon Joseph went to the cross and took Jesus off and put him in a bed.  The bed was in a cave and Joseph placed a big  round rock  in front of the cave for three days.  Jesus rose back to heaven.   On Easter we get ready to go to our grandparent’s or our cousin’s house. On Easter morning we run and try to find our Easter baskets. In the afternoon we eat some mashed potatoes, noodle soup, pizza and some Coca Cola.   After we eat lunch, we go and play with our cousins.  After a while the parents call us and we have to go to our grandparents and sing some songs and prayers in front of them. It is kind of embarrassing. After we have to go to the all of the parents that are at the house and they give us candy and other goodies to eat. Then we all go eat some turkey, ribs and Coca Cola for supper.

Easter means to me that Jesus was nailed on the cross. After two days Jesus got off his cross. On Easter Jesus rose to heaven and never came back. On Easter we go to my Grandparents to celebrate Easter. After lunch we go to our parents to sing the songs that we learned at school but in German. After we sing the songs we get candy and we go home. When we are at home we go to sleep. In the morning my brothers and I play all day from morning to night and eat candy. My family and I are all happy that it is Easter. That’s what Easter means to me.

Have a Happy Easter

Easter means a lot to me because Jesus died on the cross. We go to Church and the Preacher talks about Jesus and we sing songs. We get   toys at church. When we leave church my family goes home and my parent’s hide toys, candy, and eggs. My cousins come to my house and give my family presents and we give them presents too. We go swimming and have a BBQ. We play games on the trampoline. We have a sleepover at our cousins. The next morning we have a special breakfast. When we finish eating we go outside to play. We play with our toys that we got at Easter.

When we are done playing we have lunch and watch a movie. When we are done the movie we eat a snack. We go to my friend’s house to play. When we are done playing at my friend’s house then we go eat supper. We have turkey for supper. When my cousins go home and we say goodbye.

On March 28th, we went to the Esplanade to see, ”The Wizard Of Oz” s play put on by Eagle Butte Dchool. It was a lot of fun! My favourite parts were when The Good Witch came and helped Dorothy and when Dorothy sang. The lion was the funniest of them all. He was scared of EVERYTHING, especially of the wizard! The students were all great actresses. The bad witch was ugly,  just like witches are suppose to be.

The Wizard of Oz was at the Esplanade on March 28th, 2014. It was a lot of fun watching Eagle Butte students put on the wonderful play. My favourite part was when Dorothy sang the songs. She was a great actress as Dorothy!! The funniest actress was the lion. Nobody can give you courage you just need to be BRAVE!!! They were all great actors and actresses!! I thought it was a great idea that they put on the awesome play!! There were a lot of schools and I think Burdett was very lucky that they could go the the field trip!! The funniest part was when Dorothy melted the witch!!! Ha! ha!!

Our class had a presenter named Jenny Ellert come in from a farm and tell us about what bugs can do to plants. We learned that there are beneficial bugs and just bugs that are pests! Also we learned that Ladybugs are actually Lady Beetles! We learned that  even flies can help plants grow! Jenny Ellert also brought a large case of bugs so we could see  the bugs . 🙂 We also learned the if you see a bug in your crops you shouldn’t spray your crops because it can also kill the benificial bugs.  Here are some pictures of what we saw.
