What Easter Means To Me

Easter means to me when Jesus died on the cross for our sins. He was nailed on the cross because people didn’t believe that Jesus was God’s son. He was cut open on the sides to make sure he was dead, with the spiky crown on his head. It was only two hours after lunch.  It was dark outside, there was thunder and lightning, perhaps even an earthquake all because Jesus was nailed to the cross.  People began to think that Jesus was God’s son, but now it was too late for apologies. Jesus died on Good Friday and was put inside a cave that no one had been in before. One day Maria went to the cave to look at her son again but when Maria got to the cave she saw the stone had been moved to the side and there was an angel on it. The angel said to Maria , “Jesus has come back to life.” Maria went back to her house, but on her way back she saw a man right in front of her. She said that Jesus was not in the cave anymore.  Before she could speak, the man asked, “Maria do you know who you are speaking to?” Then she noticed that she was talking to Jesus.  Maria went to tell everyone that Jesus rose from the dead.  That is what Easter means to me. On Easter morning we go to church and our cousins come to our house for dinner. The mothers cook dinner and when they are finished our mothers try to distract us by playing games so we don’t look where our fathers hide the treats. Our fathers hide the treats before dinner.  First we eat dinner and then we can look for our treats. It’s a great deal of fun!

Very descriptive job Sara on what Jesus endured. You understand the importance of Easter, which is Jesus dying for our sins and rising as our Saviour. It sounds like you have a nice time celebrating Easter with your family. Have a Happy Easter! 🙂
