Our Grade Four Class Blog The Case of the Curious Classroom 

This is my paint roller snowman I made in art class.  I  also made a story where my snowman comes to life.

One snowy day after a blizzard, I woke up and looked out my window, it was still snowing but lightly.  I dashed downstairs, got into my snow gear, and raced outside at 9:20 am to my backyard! I made a little snowball and rolled it in the snow and made it into a ball as big as myself.  I rolled a ball to the size of my chest, and then I put it on top of the big ball for the body. Then I made a ball to the height of my waist, and put it on top of the body for a head.  I ran inside and grabbed a carrot for the nose, two jellybeans for the eyes, and seven gummy worms for the hair, and two mini hockey sticks for the arms, and a twig for the mouth. I put them on my snowman. I looked behind myself for a quick moment. 

When I looked back my snowman was putting his hand out to shake hands with me! He told me his name is Mr. Frost 🙂. I asked him how old he was and he told me he was ten. I asked him if he could play basketball and he replied, “Yes and very well.” I challenged him to a basketball match and I beat him by eight points 🙂! but I say we both won.After the basketball game we made a kitchen out of snow and had chocolate cookies with ice cold chocolate milk! After the snack, we went tobogganing down a really steep hill.  That was awesome! We decided to go climb snow hills and play monkeys, gorillas, galore, and king of the castle on the snow hills! We played mountain animals in a snow bank.  I was a cougar and Mr. Frost was a goat.

 After playing mountain animals I went back inside to get iced tea and hot chocolate for myself.  Ahhh it sure warmed me up! Then we made snow-mellows and snow cream.  It was waaay too cold.

We also played dodge the snowball and also we made an ice cube pyramid.  we played dodge the snowball in the ice cube pyramid.  We went home to have supper.  We had frozen pizza and cold chicken noodle soup, but I quickly heated mine up. While I was heating my soup up, mr. frost was finding a good television channel to watch. While we were watching television he said the sun was coming out and he might melt away 🙁 .  We decided to go ice skating at the Arena. mr. frost couldn’t really skate well. after that we went deep sea fishing. I caught a hammerhead shark and mr. frost caught a swordfish! I asked my dad if I could hang up the swordfish on the wall and he replied, “Yes.” 🙂 

We went to watch the fire-works at a place called Butchart gardens. they had walking teacup fireworks :). Then I told mr. frost i had to go to bed andI would see him tomorrow.  Then the next morning, the sun was shining brightly.

When I went to see Mr. Frost his gummy worm hair was on the ground and his arms were too. his carrot nose was on his arm and his two jellybean eyes were on his twig mouth:(. Mr. Frost had melted!   However, the next day there was another blizzard.

One cold snowy afternoon Emma was bored. Emma went to the window and looked outside. Emma saw that it had  stopped snowing.Emma got on her boots, winter jacket, and  toque. Emma  was  ready to go outside. Emma made a snowman all  on her own. After Emma made the snowman she named the snowman Rosy.  Emma turned around and back again. She  thought the snowman had moved. Emma yelled,  “THE SNOWMAN IS MAGIC!” 

Emma and Rosy  had a snowball  fight.  Emma hide behind the tree and threw a snowball at Rosy. Rosy threw a snowball back at Emma.

After the snowball fight they slide down the hills together.Emma went into the garage to get the sled. When Emma and Rosy got up the hill they slide down the hills a couple of  times.They had a fantastic time sledding.

Emma and Rosy got off  of the sled.They started to play tag in the yard. Rosy was the first one it. Rosy caught Emma and Emma caught Rosy again. It was getting dark so they had to get to bed. Emma said good-bye  to Rosy. Emma  thought that she heard the snowman say good-bye to her.

The following day Emma went to school. When Emma came back from school Emma saw that Rosy had melted.

One snowy day Annabeth went outside to make a snow woman. Annabeth took some buttons, one carrot, and one banana to decorate her snow woman. She went back outside, made three different sizes of snowballs for the body. She put the carrot on for the nose, the banana for the mouth, and the buttons for the body. SUDDENLY, Annabeth saw the snow woman move. Annabeth asked, “Did you just move?”  The snow woman answered back, “Yes I did.’’  Annabeth told the snow woman she was frightened because she had never seen a snow woman move. The snow woman replied, “Don’t be frightened. I’m friendly. Do you want to have a snow ball fight?”   Sure,” replied Annabeth.  “Is it alright if I call you Angelina?”  Angelina replied, “Sure. That’s a great name! I will play with you before I   melt when the sun comes out.”  

 Annabeth and Angelina made their snowballs and started to have a snowball fight. They soon got tired of having a snow ball fight.   Annabeth went inside and got some cookies and some ice cold milk for Angelina and  for Annabeth.  The next day Annabeth went outside and Annabeth decided to play hide and go seek.   Annabeth tried to find Angelina.  They played for two hours because Angelina was excellent at hiding.  After hide and seek they went inside and got two pink Popsicles to eat.  “Yummy,” commented Annabeth.  “Yes them Popsicle is yummy,” replied Angelina.  Soon night was upon the two friends.  Annabeth went to her home and Angelina stayed at the park.

Annabeth quickly ate breakfast the next morning and went outside to visit Angelina. Annabeth had an idea to play hide the teddy bears. Annabeth went back inside to get three teddy bears to hide from  Angelina. Annglina tried to find them. Angelina found the first one, then the second one, but she could not find it.  Annabeth had to tell Angelina that it was in an empty flower pot in the backyard.

Unfortunately the next day Annabeth had to go to school.  When Annabeth got home she noticed Angelina had melted because a Chinook rolled in. Did you know that a Chinook is a warm wind?  After the Chinook, it started to snow the following day.   Annabeth could not wait. Annabeth ran outside and made three different sized snowballs for a snowman and wondered if Angelina would come back to play with her again?

One cold winter day Melissa went outside into the backyard and she started making an enormous sized ball because she wanted to make a snowman. Once the ball was too heavy to roll, Melissa made a medium sized ball for the middle, and then a little sized ball for the head. Melissa has  blue eyes and red skin from the cold. She was wearing a pink jacket and pink snow pants.  Melissa gave the snowman a toque so his head wouldn’t be too cold. Melissa also gave her mittens for her hands and a scarf for her neck.

Once Melissa finished the snowman she went inside the house to eat.  When she was on her way inside she heard a squeaky voice coming from behind her.  She looked back and saw that the snowman she made was right behind her.  The squeaky voice she heard was the snowman talking to her. Melissa decided to name the snowman Snowy.  She tried to make Snowy stay outside because it was too warm for Snowy in the house. So Melissa went inside and locked the door because she wanted Snowy to stay outside. She went inside and got some food for Snowy and herself.  When Melissa went outside they ate pizza pops and iced cocoa for a drink.

 When they finished eating, Melissa and Snowy went into the backyard to build a snow fort. When they got bored of playing in the fort they ran around a little bit to cool off, because they were warm.  It was getting dark because the sun was setting and they were in the shade, and Melissa wanted to go inside, but she couldn’t just leave the snowman outside alone. She came up with a great idea.  The idea was that she would make a bed for Snowy in the fort so Snowy would be safe. When Snowy tested the snow bed, it was so comfortable Snowy fell asleep immediately. Melissa quickly and quietly went inside.  Melissa immediately went straight to bed because she was exhausted. When Snowy laid down in the bed it was so comfortable she didn’t want to get off. The following morning, Melissa went outside to observe if Snowy was still sleeping in the snow bed she had made for her.  Snowy was there, but she made a snow blanket instead of using the real blanket Melissa had given Snowy. Once Melissa woke Snowy up, they ate cookies and sipped ice cocoa.  After breakfast, Snowy and Melissa scrambled down from the porch and went into the backyard.  They had a snowball fight.   They got very tired  and Melissa brought Snowy back to his fort and Snowy went to sleep immediately. Melissa went inside and fall asleep the minute she got in bed. The next morning Melissa went to observe if Snowy was still at the snow fort she was the night before, but when Melissa got there that Snowy had either melted or left.
