Dear Veteran,
Thank you for fighting and keeping our country safe. Thank you for fighting in other countries to help them gain freedom. We watched a clip called, “A Poppy to Remember,” which showed how scary it must be to fight in a war. I hope I never have to go through what some little children have to go through to get to school and have to go through bombs and gun shots.
I learned that every year a page of the Book of Remembrance is turned and every time a solider dies that soldiers name goes into the Book of Remembrance. If a solider dies and they do not know the name it is called the Tomb of the Unknown Solider. John McCrae wrote In Flanders Fields.
I I enjoyed singing, “A Wish For Peace,” and was happy with our performance.
Yours Truly,
Sara

Dear Veteran,
Thank you for fighting and keeping our country free and safe and other countries too. We read a book called, “A Poppy is to Remember.” It told us that on November 11th 1918 people everywhere celebrated the return to peace after World War 1 ended. On November 10th we had our Remembrance Day program. Our song was, “A Wish for Peace.” There was a soldier at the Remembrance Day Assembly. His name was Mr. Eichelbaum. We learned that the Peace Tower has 53 bells inside and it has the Book of Remembrance. They flip the page every Remembrance Day.
Yours Truly,
Johnny

We learned about John McCrae and the poem he wrote after his friend was killed in war. Poppies started to grow on the soldiers graves. The Peace Tower in Ottawa is clock and has 53 bells.
We are doing a project. We are making a poppy picture to remember the soldiers. We sang a, “Wish for Peace.” In class we read a poem, “Why Wear a Poppy.” We listened Pittance of Time. We had a Remembrance Day Ceremony at our school. There was a Veteran at the Remembrance Day Assembly. His name was Mr. Eichelbaum.

Dear Veteran,
Thank you our fighting and keeping our country safe. Thank you for fighting in other countries to help them gain freedom. We watched a clip called,” A Poppy Remember,” which showed how scary it must be to fight in a war. I wish that all the soldiers would come home safe.
Some children have to walk through bombs to get to school. Some countries people do not live in peace. I learned that some people have to hide in their basement because of the war. Some people get shot because they doesn’t have the same skin color. Every year on Remembrance Day a page is turned in the Book of Remembrance to remember the soldiers that died in war.
We sang a song called, “A Wish For Peace.” It was nice to see my friends perform at the Remembrance Day Assembly. I can`t wait for next year and see what songs we will be sang. At the school assembly we had two minutes of silence. Sometimes my sister and I try to make a paper wreath.

Dear Veteran,
Thank you Veteran for keeping our country strong and free. I’m thankful that when I go to school I feel safe, not like some children that go to school where bombs, tanks, and guns are going off. Thank you for your service and fighting in war so we can be safe. Thank you for a day of Remembrance that we can think of our blessings and we can think of what the soldiers have gone through in the war. Thank you for keeping us freedom and safe.
We learned about John McCrae. He was born in Guelph, Ontario. He also wrote a lot of poetry. One was called, “In Flanders Fields.” He wrote it after his friend died in war. We also learned about the Peace Tower in Ottawa. It has 53 bells on it. There is also the Book of Remembrance. The Book of Remembrance has the names of all the soldiers that fought in war. Every year a new page would be turned to show the names of the soldiers that fought in the war.
We are making Remembrance Day clay poppy pictures for Remembrance Day. We sang, “A Wish for Peace,” at Remembrance Day Assembly. We are typing Remembrance Day letters for Remembrance Day. We had an assembly on Tuesday, November 10th because on November 11th was Remembrance Day. At the assembly, there was a veteran. His name was Mr. Eichelbaum. He started fighting when he was 23 years He was really young when he started fighting. Mr. Eichelbaum had his first war in World War One. We had two minutes of silence and we sang O, Canada.
