We Skyped with Bird Studies Canada in Ontario.  The first bird was a Rudy Crowned Kinglet.  It was black and gray and his head was red.  It weighs 7 grams, which is as much as a loonie.   The next bird was the Fox Sparrow.  It has a gray head , brown wings  and it is a small bird. It only 6-7 inches long. It was funny how they weighed the birds. They put the bird in a can upside down, so it wouldn’t fly away.   They put the band on with the tong and then put it on their foot. The next bird was a  Saw-Whet Owl.  It is a tiny bird because it was a baby! The Saw-Whet Owl eats, mice birds, and other insects. The next bird is the Yellow Rumped Warbler.  It was black with a yellow rump. It eats fruit and berries.  It was enjoyable because we got to see the birds up close.                           Northern Saw-whet_Owl_KameronPerensovich_FlickrCC_3148951_Yellow-rumped_Warbler_06-04-2012_3FoxSparrow5

Good work, Johnny! You worked hard on your post and had some good ideas. Keep working on adding more detail and descriptive language to your writing. I agree it was funny how they weighed the birds upside down. It was a special treat to see the Saw-Whet Owl! Nice job with using a font colour that was readable, great pictures, and video! Keep trying to stay focused and keep working hard! 🙂

Hi Johnny, thanks for joining us at Long Point Bird Observatory! I agree, it is special to see the birds up close, especially since all 4 birds were members of different bird families! We could compare their sizes, shapes, colors, beaks and feet to learn about the different adaptations each bird has!
